Atlanta offers special treats for book lovers of all ages since it is the home of an author who penned one of the most popular literary works of all time. A visit to Margaret Mitchell Museum, not affords the opportunity to see where ‘Gone With The Wind’ was actually written, but visitors come away with a new perspective of creative writing. Margaret Mitchell did her writing in a very small apartment she occupied in 1925. Those who have read the book and viewed the film adapted from it will gain a new appreciation for how the story was conceived in the mind of a human being. You can find a quick rundown here

A visit to the farm where Joel Chandler Harris wrote his famous childrens’ stories will be a treat for the young at heart and offer a new avenue of reading for children. Harris, affectionately known as ‘Uncle Remus’ was the creator of such lovable animal characters as Br’ers Rabbit, Bear and Fox.

Dialogue in the Dark offers a unique, unforgettable and definitely educational experience for all visitors. During this adventure, visitors are blindfolded and guided through what will appear to be the everyday world as experienced by those who are blind or visually challenged.
